I uploaded my resume on a Tuesday and had two interviews lined up by Friday. My recruiter knew the Chicago market cold — the range she quoted me was exactly what the offer came in at.

After three months of applying into the void, Harbor got me in front of real hiring managers in two weeks. They prepped me for every interview and checked in through my whole first month.

What stood out was the honesty. My recruiter told me one role wasn't a fit and why, then found me a better one at higher pay. I started three weeks later.

The whole process ran in both French and English, and every posting they sent me had the salary right on it. No games. I recommended Harbor to two friends the week I started.

I was nervous about contract-to-hire, but Harbor's benefits covered me from week one and I converted to permanent in five months. They followed up after my 90-day mark like they said they would.

Harbor filled nine engineering roles for us across Austin and New York last year. The shortlists arrive inside a week and the quality is consistent — our 12-month retention on their hires is the best of any agency we use.

They staffed our Calgary plant expansion — engineers and skilled trades — while we stayed focused on the launch. One bill rate, no compliance surprises, and their coordinator handled every start date.

The confidential search for our operations lead was handled with total discretion. Three finalists in five weeks, all strong enough to hire. We signed the retainer for our next search the same month.

Three engagements, by the numbers

Different industries, different scales — the same playbook: a specialist team, honest scoping, and a shortlist in 3–5 business days.

Scaling a SaaS engineering org

Northwind Software

Challenge
A Series-D workforce-management platform needed to double two product groups — backend, DevOps, QA, and product roles — across Austin and Toronto inside one quarter, without letting quality slip or burning out its own hiring managers.
Approach
We assigned a two-recruiter pod from our technology practice, ran a single shared pipeline for both cities, and calibrated weekly against real interview outcomes. Every posting carried a true pay range, and shortlists stayed at five candidates or fewer.
Outcome
Twenty-two engineers and product hires started within 90 days, with an 89% offer-accept rate — well above the company's historical average. Northwind has since retained us for every engineering search.

Confidential VP Finance search

PE-backed manufacturer

Challenge
A private-equity-backed manufacturer needed to replace a sitting VP Finance ahead of a planned transaction — quietly. Any leak to the market, or internally, would have created real deal risk.
Approach
We ran the search retained and fully confidential: no public posting, a blinded company profile, and direct approaches to a mapped list of 40 qualified finance leaders. Candidates learned the company's identity only after signing an NDA at the finalist stage.
Outcome
The role was filled in 28 days from kickoff to signed offer, with zero market leakage — the incumbent transition was announced on the company's own timeline, and the new VP led financial diligence for the transaction that followed.

130

associates in 5 weeks

96% shift-fill across 3 states

Seasonal distribution-center ramp

TrueNorth Logistics

Challenge
Heading into peak season, TrueNorth Logistics needed 130 warehouse associates, forklift operators, and shift leads across distribution centers in three states — hired, screened, and safety-trained in five weeks.
Approach
Our skilled trades and industrial team ran parallel local pipelines at each site with a single coordinator owning every start date. Harbor handled screening, certifications, and compliance under one bill rate, and staffed a standby bench to absorb no-shows.
Outcome
All 130 associates were on the floor before peak week, and shift-fill held at 96% through the season. TrueNorth converted a dozen associates to permanent roles and booked us for the next ramp before this one ended.
