Maintenance Technician

About the Role

TrueNorth Logistics is adding four maintenance technicians to keep its Charlotte distribution center running on 2nd shift (2pm-10:30pm, with a shift differential). You will handle PM and repair on conveyors, sortation, dock doors, and forklifts, plus basic PLC troubleshooting. This is a 12-month W-2 contract through Harbor Recruitment, and extensions are common.

What You'll Do

• Complete scheduled PM routines on conveyor and sortation lines across a 400,000 sq ft distribution center
• Troubleshoot and repair belt conveyors, motors, gearboxes, bearings, and photo eyes during the nightly outbound push
• Diagnose faults on Allen-Bradley PLCs at the I/O and sensor level, escalating ladder-logic changes to the controls team
• Maintain dock doors, levelers, and seals across 60 dock positions
• Perform preventive maintenance and minor repairs on a fleet of 25 electric forklifts and pallet jacks
• Log work orders, parts usage, and downtime in the CMMS before end of shift
• Support planned shutdown work on a rotating schedule, roughly one weekend in four

What You'll Bring

• 2-5 years of industrial maintenance experience in distribution, manufacturing, or a similar plant setting
• Solid mechanical skills: belts, chains, sprockets, gearboxes, and bearings
• Electrical troubleshooting up to 480V three-phase using a multimeter and schematics
• Basic PLC troubleshooting: reading I/O status and identifying failed sensors and devices
• Availability for 2nd shift, Monday through Friday, 2pm-10:30pm
• Ability to lift 50 lbs, work from scissor lifts and ladders, and stay on your feet most of the shift
• Comfort using a computerized maintenance system to receive and close work orders

Nice to Have

• Experience with high-speed sortation or automated conveyor systems
• Welding or basic fabrication skills
• Forklift repair training or an OEM service certification
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 card
