Financial Analyst

About the Role

Maplecore Foods is hiring a mid-level analyst to support the retail channel P&L from its Toronto head office. You will run monthly variance analysis, build trade-spend models in Excel and Power BI, and partner with two national account managers who rely on your numbers to price and plan promotions. The role is hybrid, direct hire, and comes with real support for your CPA journey.

What You'll Do

• Prepare monthly variance analysis for the retail channel P&L, comparing actuals to budget and forecast
• Build and maintain trade-spend models in Excel and Power BI covering promotions across national grocery accounts
• Partner with two national account managers on pricing, promotion ROI, and customer profitability
• Support monthly close by reviewing trade program accruals and flagging gaps to the accounting team
• Update the rolling forecast each month and walk the finance director through what moved and why
• Automate recurring reports in Power BI so the team spends less time assembling data and more time analyzing it

What You'll Bring

• 2-4 years of experience in financial analysis, FP&A, or a similar analytical role
• Advanced Excel skills, including lookups, pivot tables, and building models from scratch
• Working knowledge of Power BI or a comparable dashboard tool
• Hands-on experience with monthly close, budgeting, or forecasting cycles
• Comfort presenting numbers to non-finance partners and explaining variances in plain language
• Strong attention to detail when working with large data sets pulled from an ERP system

Nice to Have

• CPG or food manufacturing industry experience
• Exposure to trade spend, deductions, or customer promotion accounting
• Experience with SAP or a similar ERP
• Progress toward the CPA designation
